Removing a old hull out of its mould and fiting out the restoration 8ft dinghy

Removing matting from the where the bow seat was to make the moulding flex enough to move out of the mould

Doing the same to the aft seat area and taking out wood in the keel area

Leveling up the dinghy in the cradle to ensure the seats get glassed in level

Glassing in the reinforcement plywood for aft seat

Trimming the bow seat moulding to fit the inside of the hull

Glassing in the transom pad to strengthen up the transom of the dinghy to take a reasonable size outboard motor should one be fitted by its new owner

Ensuring the dinghy stays level while glassing in  the bow and aft seats.

The aft bolt still in postion and the copper nails still inposition as these have been nailed and roved in position so they can not be removed without cutting them out.

An Enterpise Dinghy in the Workshop for some TLC

An Enterprise in need of a good bit of restoration and a good drying out before it can get re-varnishing on the decks and inside before it can get refitted

The decks need a good rubbing down and re-varnishing

The port front spray rail needs to befitted and the deck fittings will be complete

Now that it is in the workshop and out of the weather then work can re-start on the Enterprise

Total cockpit overhaul needed on the yacht

The cabin bulkhead is in the worse condition and will need the most work on

The aft bulkhead is a lot smaller and should not be as larger job as the front, however, smaller areas can cause their problems

One of the first jobs is to remove all the equipment that is the way to gain access to the bulkheads and to the cockpit coamings that have to be removed to be able to remove the old rotten wood.

One side is already clear of obstructions

All of the fixing cliched up and rudder fitting fixed in position and now getting a coat of underwater primer before fixing the rudder back on the yacht

Sorting out the decks

Before we made a start on the sanding of the deck the cabin area had to be sheeted up to stop any dust from going down below.

Then the decks had to cleared of any loose items and then get out the orbital sander and finger motor sander to get where the other sander could not get in around any deck fittings

The biggest job was sanding level the new repairs with the old deck covering and making level

After the decks are sanded then we have to fit quadrant around the cabin sides and make fancy end pieces to join the different lengths of quadrant together.

anf make an odd angled piece to go along the edge of the deck covering to the face of the transom to ensure the transom to deck covering joint is watertight.

Glassing in the keel backing pads

Starting to glass in the backing pads

The whole of the backing pads glass over with two layers of 2 oz CSM

looking forward to the bow seat / buoyancy tank all we have do now is glass in the stern seat / buoyancy tank. Then fit the centre seat blocks and then lift it out of the mould to fit the inwales and gunwales.

Finally got the mould with the dinghy in the workshop ready to make a start on fitting her out

First dry fitting the stern seat before make the transom pad for the outboard and then glass in the seat

Dry fitting the bow seat, however before  the glass in this bow seat in, there is the  fitting of the bow eye bolt
